Job Description

Our client is a specialist engineering company involved in the control of industrial and environmental noise and vibration. Controlling noise and vibration is a complex issue, and after many years of research, testing and experience they have designed and developed a wide range of innovative solutions, manufactured at their own advanced facilities.

They are currently looking to expand all operations to take advantage of some new product designs that are reinforcing their brand values, for innovation.

With this in mind, our client is currently looking to recruit a talented Engineering Manager to drive their innovation culture and to reinforce the “Design Thinking” philosophy that has been at the core of their recent success.

Within the role you will be required to lead the engineering department activities, managing the operation of design and engineering specifications as well as Technical support and cost estimates and directing and motivating the engineering team to meet deadlines. Ensuring that engineering quality standards are met and quality controls are in place, you must plan ahead for future contracts and product opportunities and take responsibility for departmental personnel issues. You will also be required to allocate the resources of staff in the most effective proportions to meet targets while fostering a 5s Kaizen culture.

Candidates for this role must be able to lead the innovation of product design and have the ability to meet tight deadlines, whilst operating in an organised and professional manner and remaining calm under pressure. Strong IT skills are a requirement, particularly including the use and knowledge of CAD, MRP and MS Office programmes. They require a candidate who can demonstrate an understanding of how important design is within the wider interests of the business and who has a background in modern progressive design and manufacturing techniques.
